Have you got a story that celebrates Hants County? The Hants RDA launched
a special contest, inviting local residents to tell us the reasons why they
love the region.
The inspiration for this contest came from people like Dan Vail who, over the years,
have told us what Hants County means to them. Dan wrote:
"I am now living in Pembroke, Mass., with my wife, Merri. We live busy lives in a
place far more hectic than my home in Kempt Shore. While I love the US I find I miss
the shore more each day. Like most of us I hated it as a youngster because it was so
boring but now I long for that peace and tranquility that can't be bought with money.
I brought my wife to the shore shortly after we got married. When we arrived it was
almost dark and the sunset over Blomidon was the most beautiful sight I've seen in my
life. I'm not sure if my wife understands yet why I want to go home but the long and
short of it? I haven't seen anyone anywhere any better off than I was on the shore.
It's a great place!!!"
Everyone who sends us a story about why they love Hants County will receive
one of our special "I Love Hants County" decals and will have their story
posted on this web site. You'll also have the chance to win monthly prize
draws, beginning in October 2005. This call for stories was originally
slated to run until September 2005 -- but we've extended the "I Love Hants
County" program for an entire year, because we LOVE receiving your articles
about the region.
Make sure to include a mailing address with your email or written
submission -- and if you have a photo of Hants County you'd like to share
with us, please send it along as well! Send
