Welcome to the Hants County Health Directory |
Welcome to the Hants County Health Directory. The Health Directory, although a part of the Hants Country Regional Development Authority site, has been developed through a partnership effort. The partnership includes Production School House students and staff, Hants Shore Community Health Centre and the West Hants Community Health Board. Funding to assist with the project was obtained through The Community Health Promotion Fund, Department of Public Health.
On behalf of the West Hants Community Health Board we welcome you to the site. The Community Health Board believes that good health - is everyone's responsibility. In building a community-based integrated health system it is important to understand our communities and their needs - and to plan services and programs accordingly.
In as much as good health is about fixing you when you're sick, it is also about addressing the issues in a community that contribute to sickness in the first place. This concept recognizes that a number of factors - such as education, employment and social support networks -- impact on the health and well-being of individuals and communities
We encourage all community groups, not for profit organizations and health related services to register with our directory. List your organization in the directory, if you have a website please include the address and most important if you have a good news story, upcoming event or program to share with others please submit that as well.
Hants County has some wonderful things going on and we encourage you to share your stories/pictures with us. If you need assistance getting your information on line please call the West Hants Community Health Board 798-2210 or e-mail to Sandra.milbury@cdha.nshealth.ca
Community Health Boards:
Capital Health works with residents of the Capital Health District to help build a health system that meets the needs of our communities and improves health. Seven Community Health Boards nominate individuals for membership on the Capital Health Board of Directors, develop health plans for local needs, and engage in public consultation
