BUSINESS PARKS
Windsor-West Hants Industrial Park
The Windsor-West Hants Industrial Park offers some of the best-placed business land in Nova
Scotia. The park is within commuting distance of 500,000 people and six universities. This
location will be of interest to advanced manufacturing firms in the technology sector and
commercialization facilities serving the life sciences sector (a cluster of complimentary
firms currently exists in Windsor-West Hants). The Industrial Park lands are nearly completely
developed.
The Windsor-West Hants Industrial Park is located just outside the Town of Windsor,
56 kilometres to the north of Halifax, adjacent to Highway 101 at Exit 5A. Highway 101 is a
four-lane limited access highway which connects to Highway 102 in Bedford and then the
Trans Canada Highway (104) at Truro. The Windsor-West Hants Industrial Park is 75 kilometres
west of Halifax International Airport. The Windsor & Hantsport Railway operates a station and
marshalling yard two kilometers north of the industrial park. This railway’s 90 kilometre
short line interchanges with the Canadian National (CN) railway mainline at Windsor Junction
north of Halifax. There, customers can directly access the Port of Halifax marine facilities.
Land sales in the Windsor-West Hants Industrial Park are negotiated with the Nova Scotia
Department of Transportation & Public Works. Serviced land sells for $20,000 per acre.
