Hants RDA enjoys another successful excursion to the Emigrate Show in UK
(October 27th, 2011 – Elmsdale, Nova Scotia) Hants Regional Development Authority’s Regional Promotion Officer, “Viorica Sporea” attended the Annual International Emigrate Show in Birmingham England on October 1st and 2nd , successfully promoting Hants County as a welcoming place for new immigrants to call home.
“We continue to see very positive results from efforts, with this year’s emigrate show resulting in more than thirty new clients who, along with their families, are not only dreaming of making Hants County their new home, but with our help they are actively taking the steps towards making their dream a reality”, says Hants RDA’s Regional Promotion Officer, Viorica Sporea.
“The Emigrate shows in the UK have been around for the past 16 years. The event has been hosted at a variety of venues across the UK and this year marks the third year for the Hants RDA’s participation. The Emigrate Show draws people from across the UK looking to put down new roots in Nova Scotia and the RDA includes many of these folks on their growing list of people attracted to this region. In fact, over the past 16 months the RDA has successfully supported the settlement of 18 new families to Hants County” says Hants RDA Executive Director, Claude O’Hara.
“At a time when Nova Scotia is anticipating tremendous economic growth, the RDA’s efforts have resulted in Hants County being on the international map and the personal radar of many potential immigrants. New Canadians’ who will bring the skill levels and entrepreneurial spirit that will help our rural communities grow and prosper” says John Bregante, Windsor Town Councilor and Chair of the Hants RDA Board of Directors.
“The RDA’s immigration attraction work is being widely recognized and it is having a tremendous impact on the social, economic and cultural levels of our communities. We are working toward the goal of Hants County becoming Nova Scotia’s favourite rural relocation destination” says John Patterson, Warden of the Municipality of East Hants and long serving RDA Board Member.
